I suggest opening a bugreport with the request for the added functionality.

I believe this is a wanted feature in general. If you look at it from the perspective of server load, distributing cron times makes sense. So most HN admins wouldn't want cron to be run at exactly the same time on all the VMs. But having a switch to disable this for cases such as yours also makes sense, IMHO.
