Disturb VMs in two HDD [message #44904]

Hello

i have 8 VMs OpenVZ running on /sda 1st H.D.D and i want to move 4 VMs to /sdb 2nd H.D.D

is there any tutorial of how can i made this done

Instead of your intervention to distribute the VEs across the hard disks, please consider using LVM. Managing disk-space with LVM is better engineering, it does a good job!

You can move the directories /vz/private/??? and /vz/root/??? for half the containers to the new disk and then link them back to /vz/private/???. Or you can edit the /etc/vz/conf/???.conf file and see these lines:

VE_ROOT="/vz/root/$VEID"
VE_PRIVATE="/vz/private/$VEID"

Just do the move and change those lines as needed. Just don't do it while the container is running.
