Hi everyone!

I'm new to OpenVZ and I'm trying to get it running on an old laptop running 64bit CentOS 5.6.

I started following the OpenVZ user's guide but quickly ran into problems becuase I didn't see anything about 64bit installs.

Then I found the x86-64 install guide for centos here (wiki.openvz.org/Install_OpenVZ_on_a_x86_64_system_Centos-Fe dora) but I'm getting failed dependency errors for packages vzpkg, vzrpm43 and vzrpm43-python. I've found some posts saying that these packages are obsolete, so I'm very confused and lost now Sad

Any help is greatly appreciated!

There isn't anything specific to 64-bit installs. What problems did you run into?

The install isn't complicated at all - add openvz yum repository, use yum to install openvz kernel, vzctl, vzquota, edit /etc/sysctl.conf, disable selinux, doublecheck that your openvz kernel is set to be the default and reboot.

That's it.

And you are correct, vzpkg, vzrpm43 and vzrpm43-python are obsolete, you don't need them.
