Hi everyone!
I have installed openVZ on my FedoraCore-5-x86-64 system, everything works , it booting, creating vps, starting, but created vps not ping from out or inside!
I use fc-5-minimal template, iptables on system (main system) are off on installation.
i have add 2 virtual eth interfaces 10.0.0.3, 10.0.0.4, physical is 10.0.0.2,i have added ip 10.0.0.3 to vps 3 (vzctl set 3 --ipadd 10.0.0.3 --save) i start my vps veid 3 (vzctl start 3) it started and running but i can't connect to vps's ssh by 10.0.0.3,it connects to system shell not to to vps!
when i enter to vps (vzctl enter 3) and try to ping anything it not pinging, even 10.0.0.2 is not pinging...
i tryed to stop iptables on vps (service iptables stop) but it write error "no modules loaded" or "no modules found"

Please help!

You don't need to add virtual eth interfaces 10.0.0.3, 10.0.0.4. Remove them, then restart VPS.

vzctl set 3 --ipadd 10.0.0.3 --save
vzctl start 3
sleep 10
ping 10.0.0.3

I'm having the very same problem. I want to give the VE a public IP instead of IP masquerading. But the VE ip belongs to a different subnet than the hardware node.

I can remotely log into the VE but from there I cannot ping anything on the outside. Pleask help

man, try checking your /etc/resolv.conf.. common issue with forgotten resolver configuration Rolling Eyes

you can set it permanantelly with
vzctl set NNN --nameserver x.y.z.w --save
