Your /boot/grub/grub.conf file should contain something like this:
 title Fedora Core (2.6.8-022stab078.10)
        root (hd0,0)
        kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.8-022stab078.10 ro root=LABEL=/ console=ttyS0,115200 console=tty debug silencelevel=8
        initrd /initrd-2.6.8-022stab078.10.img

in order to boot installed OpenVZ kernel.
If you provide entire `cat /boot/grub/grub.conf` output here, I'll could say exactly, what's wrong with your config.
