I recently installed Openvz on to ubuntu server 10.04. After following install instructions performed reboot. Once system cam back up system was frozen and unable to login.

Need help in resolving not sure what the issue is considering I can not login.

How do you define "came back up" and "frozen"? Do you get a useless login prompt, or a splash screen that never goes away? Does Num Lock still work?

I had big problems with upstart in some conditions - it would stop executing during bootup with no useful messages and no way to find out what was going on. It wouldn't make it as far as the login screen.

If you edit the kernel arguments you can add noplymouth, remove quiet and splash, and maybe get more details. There is also a kernel option to have it be insanely verbose while booting up.

Personally, I got so fed up with Ubuntu 10.04 that I switched everything to Debian Squeeze.
