Hi,

Within a VE the hplip setup script (http://hplip.net/) does not find my HP network printers (mdns/bonjour/slp). Even when specifying a printer by ip address it does not recognize it.
I tried with venet and veth interface, but that does not make any difference.

I reports: "python: hp-setup[666]: error: No devices found on bus: net"

The same software on the HN does find it. I installed it as Ubuntu packages hplip & hplip-gui.
I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 on HN (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/OpenVZ#10.04) & VE (default precreated template).

I have no idea what kind of special traffic it would use which apparantly is not available in the VE.
Is there some --capability I could try?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Wessel
