Hi,
I recently created a Gentoo template following the instructions in the wiki: http://wiki.openvz.org/Gentoo_template_creation

When I try setting the password with vzctl, nothing happens.
vzctl set 800 --userpasswd root:secret

There are no changes in either the "passwd" or "shadow" files.

However when I enter the container and set the password with "passwd" there are no problems.

On my centOS container the command is executed correctly:
vzctl set 800 --userpasswd root:secret
"Changing password for user root.
passwd: all authentication tokens updated successfully."

I already double checked the configuration files mentioned in the article and I'm currently out of ideas where to look next.

Kernel: 2.6.18-194.8.1.el5.028stab070.4 x86_64
vzctl-3.0.24.2-1.x86_64
