Hi guys,

I'm looking into the best option to have virtualization on my server.
So far I tried Vmware - it was an obvious first choice for me since I used it before - but I ran into the following problem:
Although my Intel Xeon CPUs are 64 bit apparently they can't run 64bit guest OSes.
I followed this article to find out the root cause: http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-8978
It turned out that my CPU is not VT-capable (This core does not support VT).

I read in the wiki that OpenVZ uses a different form of virtualization.

My question is, with OpenVZ would it be possible to run 64bit guest OSes (containers) on the same hardware as mentioned before?

My assumption would be yes, but I'd appreciate a confirmation Smile
