I got 2 nearly equal servers, setup by "quick installation" from wiki.

And one "Mail Server VE".

Old server: CentOS 5.3 x86_64 2.6.18-128.2.1.el5.028stab064.7

New server: CentOS 5.5 x86_64 2.6.18-194.8.1.el5.028stab070.2

So the same VE process 500 Mails per minute on Old server
And 50 Mails per minute on New server.

Once again: servers are almost equal!
Test done like "TEST, MIGRATION, TEST, MIGRATION, TEST"

right now i`m done testing HNs with bonnie++:
old HN:
Version 1.03 ------Sequential Output------ --Sequential Input- --Random-
                    -Per Chr- --Block-- -Rewrite- -Per Chr- --Block-- --Seeks--
Machine        Size K/sec %CP K/sec %CP K/sec %CP K/sec %CP K/sec %CP  /sec %CP
                 8G 33482  58 35455  12 16781   3 37141  56 40122   3  86.8   0

new HN
Version 1.03 ------Sequential Output------ --Sequential Input- --Random-
                    -Per Chr- --Block-- -Rewrite- -Per Chr- --Block-- --Seeks--
Machine        Size K/sec %CP K/sec %CP K/sec %CP K/sec %CP K/sec %CP  /sec %CP
                 8G 33136  46 36209   8 19819   4 49741  61 66728   5 185.2   0

So, right way to do testings is not on HN but inside of VE, so:

bonnie++, VE on "old HN"
Version 1.03 ------Sequential Output------ --Sequential Input- --Random-
                    -Per Chr- --Block-- -Rewrite- -Per Chr- --Block-- --Seeks--
Machine        Size K/sec %CP K/sec %CP K/sec %CP K/sec %CP K/sec %CP  /sec %CP
                8G 30737  63 35707  12 18343   3 34590  67 39202   3  83.6   0

bonnie++, VE on "new HN"
Version 1.03 ------Sequential Output------ --Sequential Input- --Random-
                    -Per Chr- --Block-- -Rewrite- -Per Chr- --Block-- --Seeks--
Machine        Size K/sec %CP K/sec %CP K/sec %CP K/sec %CP K/sec %CP  /sec %CP
                 8G 40157  65 42630  10 25814   5 52552  79 107684   5 182.9   0

Once again they are almost equal, (new faster actually), but on "new HN" server proceeds only 80 mail messages per minute!

The main test done by "postal smtp server benchmark" which is running on another server:
[root@longbeach postal-0.70]# ./postal -a -t 10 -M 10 -m 100 my-mail-ve.org user-list-filename
time,messages,data(K),errors,connections
10:53,285,16337,0,295
10:54,392,20716,0,392
10:55,385,21213,0,385
10:56,390,21503,0,390
10:57,393,22093,0,393
10:58,439,24806,0,439
10:59,435,23798,0,435

[root@longbeach postal-0.70]# ./postal -a -t 10 -M 10 -m 100 my-mail-ve.org user-list-filename
time,messages,data(K),errors,connections
11:21,71,4790,0,81
11:22,88,5016,0,88
11:23,80,4391,0,80
11:24,83,4300,0,83
11:25,81,4187,0,81
11:26,80,4499,0,80
11:27,82,4211,0,82
11:28,78,4152,0,78
11:29,82,4274,0,82
[root@longbeach postal-0.70]#

So, first is "old HE" and second is "new HN".
"new HN" is faster than "old HN" but VE works 5 time slower!

First of all, i setuped mail system outside of VE, e.g. on VE0, on HN. And postal shows 800 mails per second Twisted Evil

So HN is powerfull enought but somehow don`t offer it`s power to VE!

Some testings:

inside of VE on "new HN":
# time bonnie++ -u root -s0 -f -n 256:1:1:2
Version 1.03 ------Sequential Create------ --------Random Create--------
                    -Create-- --Read--- -Delete-- -Create-- --Read--- -Delete--
files:max:min        /sec %CP  /sec %CP  /sec %CP  /sec %CP  /sec %CP  /sec %CP
          256:1:1/2  7607  63  1398   1 11012  20  9626  81  1296   1  2143   4

real    9m57.871s
user    0m1.287s
sys     0m57.784s

Outside of VE on "new HN":
#  time bonnie++ -u root -s0 -f -n 256:1:1:2
Version 1.03 ------Sequential Create------ --------Random Create--------
                    -Create-- --Read--- -Delete-- -Create-- --Read--- -Delete--
files:max:min        /sec %CP  /sec %CP  /sec %CP  /sec %CP  /sec %CP  /sec %CP
          256:1:1/2  4105  44  1076   0 10262  18  5391  59   842   0  2111   4
