Hi guys.
Couldn't find anything helpful in the forum.

Simple question: I have a system running. (2.6.18 openvz patched) on a 32bit system (debian).
I just bought a new system (quadcore) and would like to install amd64. Is it possible to do so and migrate the container? Are there any problems that might come up?

Thank you very much for your help guys!
Greetings from Germany
Max

Hello,

there are a lot of examples when 32bit VE was migrated to 64bit node.
The only thing I'd like to note is that the kernel on the destination node should not be much older that the kernel on the source node.

I will use the exact same kernel 2.6.18.
The only difference is amd64 of course...

Newer kernels don't support cpu limits which isn't very useful.

Thank you for your answer.
