iptables on HN / DNS not resolving inside VEs [message #39056]

Hi,

I am not sure if this has been asked before - but I have a problem where my VEs cannot resolve other domains.

I have checked my /etc/resolv.conf and everything is fine in there.

However, when I shut down iptables on the HN - then all of a sudden the DNS resolves fine inside the VEs.

I do not want to shut down iptables because I would like to do bandwidth monitoring as well.

Any insight into the above would be much appreciated.

Hello,

the situation that you have described points to the possible iptables rule that cuts network traffic. Please, carefully examine iptable rules on your computer. I think that's the best piece of advice in such a situation.
