I'm running ubuntu8.04 VPS on a lenny box with the standard debian 2.6.26-2-openvz-amd64 kernel.

mounting a samba share on the HN is no problem at all, but inside a VPS i only get
mount error: cifs filesystem not supported by the system
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs)

although all the necessary tools are installed.

I've tried to 'mount.cifs' the shares on the HN and use 'mount --bind' to make them available inside the VPS. inside the VPS the first 'ls' after mounting sometimes completes after 10 or so seconds, but after that i only get
ls: cannot access /mnt/share: Resource temporarily unavailable

any ideas?
