Hi, how are you?

I have various problems using a guest system on an OpenVZ server.
I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 server template.

1 - The /var/log/messages doesn't contain the total of messages that I can have on a common Ubuntu system that run stand alone.
2 - I can't log any log message of shorewall (iptables) in /var/log/messages or /var/log/syslog. I only can view that using dmesg.
3 - /var/log/boot is empty.

I think that it is having problems with the log system, maybe I need to configure some things in the OpenVZ server in order to fix that.

Hi.

by default syslog service is just turned off, so please, enable it.

Just check "chkconfig --list" and it should become clean.

Hope that help.

If your problem is solved - please, report it!
It's even more important than reporting the problem itself...
