Hi,

I typically access the HN via ssh, but today I attempted to access it via the console, but on two HN's I have, no login prompt is present.

The booting sequence ends with the containers starting, but nothing after that.

Did I miss something or is my system messed up?

I'm running Fedora 9 HN with the 2.6.18-92.1.1.el5.028stab057.2 kernel.

Thanks,
Mike

Check that there are mingetty processes running (ps ax | grep getty); they should be.

If they are not, check configs. Those mingetties are run either from /etc/inittab or from /etc/event.d/tty*, depending on whether F9 is using SysVinit or upstart.

No mingetty is running, and everything is correct in /etc/event.d/tty*.

Bootup messages give:
dmz-hn1 kernel: console [tty0] enabled

But then I see
dmz-hn1 init: tty2 main process (1435) killed by TERM signal

This is obviously something with Fedora. I'll find a Fedora forum and post the question there.

Thanks for the help,
Mike
