Hi,

I am running CentOS 5.3 with the newest OpenVZ 2.6.18 kernel (2.6.18-128.2.1.el5.028stab064.4) using venet.

After installing a samba server inside a container I wanted to mount it in other containers by mounting it on the hardware node and using mount --bind (http://wiki.openvz.org/Bind_mounts)

I can mount the samba share into any container running on a different hardware node, but not into a container running on the same hardware node. When I try to access the share from inside the container it says "Host is down". I can access the container mount from the hardware node until I try to access it from the container. After that nothing works.

I almost went nuts! Running tcpdump I can see that no packages arrive on the samba server when I try to access the mount. So it might be a networking issue but other services (HTTP, DNS(tcp, udp)) work fine.

I already tried a lot like using "unix extensions = yes/no", mounting using a different IP, Samba 3.0 and 3.4.

Please, can anybody give me a hint?
