It is possible? The hardware node using x64 bits(needed for 8GB ram) and the VPS containers using x86 32 bits ?

Definitely. I do it all the time. I have 32bit and 64 bit OpenVZ VPS alongside VirtualBox Vms all on a 64 bit Ubuntu host humming along very nicely indeed Very Happy

If you're concerned about kernel issues, use a PAE/SMB kernel.
