Total newbie here.

I know this must sound like a stupid question, but we are a small shop here and while we have mostly linux servers to virtualize we have a need for some Windows VMs as well and really want to have it all on one box.

I'd prefer to run VMWare Workstation as these Windows vms are have lots of 2d graphics going on.

Is this possible? Technically, OpenVZ isn't a hypervisor so it doesn't require the CPU virtualization capabilities does it?

Hi,

some people managed to combine Vmware+OpenVZ, so I think you could try doing it.
Moreover, if you want, you can have a look at Parallels Server (note, it's a beta version) and try it for free.

Parrell's server looks like it could fit the bill...thanks for the pointer. I went to the website earlier but didn't see it (wasn't looking for it).

Thanks
