Hello,

I installed Debian Lenny with Open VZ kernel.
Until the system was configured, I used the DHCP. Later, when everything was finished, I wanted to reconfiguring my system into static IP (via /etc/network/interfaces), but I got error something like

"
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
Failed to bring up eth0.
"

/var/log/* get nothing
/etc/network/interfaces is all OK (I understand what I do) (DHCP was disabled, static info was entered)

I don't have any network interface (only one)

I found one solution (I don't tryed yet, but...) via google.com --> http://www.howtogeek.com/wiki/Fixing_%22Failed_to_bring_up_e th0%22_in_Ubuntu_Virtual_Machine
but I don't understand WHY need to change eth0 into eth1 ?

Thanks
