Hi folks,

I need to create my own Debian 5.0 OS template.

According to;
http://wiki.openvz.org/Debian_template_creation

# debootstrap --arch i386 etch /vz/private/777 http://http.us.debian.org/debian/

Can the above URL work for me?

Whether replace etch with lenny running;

# debootstrap --arch i386 lenny /var/lib/vz/private/VE_number http://http.us.debian.org/debian/

???

Then run;

cat <<EOF > /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian lenny main contrib
deb http://security.debian.org lenny/updates main contrib
EOF

TIA

What will be the URL for Ubuntu 9.10?

I'm sorry, your question is not very clear to me. If you want to create your own Ubuntu template (rather than Debian), you'd better check ubuntu-specific articles, such as

Sorry not making my question clear on my posting. Actually I want to create 2 templates, Debian 5.0 (Lenny) and Ubuntu 9.04 which I suppose being the latest Ubuntu version.

is for creating Debian 4.0 etch template. I don't know whether changing the word 'etch' to 'lenny' I can create Debian 5.0 lenny template.
