Hi,
I am just starting a summer research project at the University of Western Ontario. I will working with another graduate student to develop policy-based autonomic resource management system using OpenVZ.
I am trying to install/run OpenVZ on my Dell laptop which is currently running Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope). I managed to successfully configure, compile and install the OpenVZ 2.6.18 kernel. I obtained the kernel source from the git repository two days ago and compiled a .deb package using the make-kpkg utility on Ubuntu.
The OpenVZ 2.6.18 kernel seems to load fine, however when I boot the new kernel it hangs for a while in the init stage, then spits out some messages that go by to fast to read followed by
Out of Memory: Kill Process 2 (migration/0/0) and children
repeating to infinity. Within the text that goes by too quick to read, I think it says something about "crash kernel".
I'm kind of stuck at the moment and not sure where to go next in my troubleshooting. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
My Hardware:
CPU: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2300 (Dual-Core) @ 1.66GHz
RAM: 1024 MiB
