What does it mean hangs?
The provided output contains the following line:

So, as far as I understand you're able to enter that VE and invoke commands. So, VE is alive.

The line
Quote:


root 1 0 0 05:08 ? 00:00:00 init [2]


means that init in runlevel-2.
So, it worth checking if networking service should work at all in runlevel-2.
