Do you have in mind the containers that are located on the OpenVZ server?
If yes, could you please show how did you check this fact?
Please, show the output:
"vzctl exec $VEID date; date", when $VEID is the number of your VE.

Actually, HN and VE use the same system clock, so they have to be synchronized automatically. The only reason I can imagine why they don't in your case is that time zones are not properly adjusted on your system. I mean time zones on the HN and inside the VE.
