I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong with my user_beancounters when it comes to guaranteed memory vs burst memory. Based on the following parameters below I should be giving the container a 512MB guaranteed memory, 1024 burst. However, if I do the "free -m" it's showing that the total memory is 1024MB. Is that correct??

Host Machine
Kernel: 2.6.18-92.1.18.el5.028stab060.2
Server: 64BIT RHEL5

Container Memory Parameters
PRIVVMPAGES="262144:286720"
VMGUARPAGES="131072:9223372036854775807"
OOMGUARPAGES="126976:9223372036854775807"

Memory reported by using free
total used free
Mem: 1024 142 881
-/+ buffers/cache: 142 881
Swap: 0 0 0

Quite correct. "free" inside VE shows the amount of virtual memory but you can control that output (see meminfo parameter of vzctl - man vzctl)
