Hi guys, i have a

AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 250 with 6 GB Ram, on centos 5.2 i install openvz, and like panel i use VTONF.

i have only running 5 vps and are using 5GB ram, why? if each vps have max 512 ram.

what can be the problem?


EDIT** i kill 2 VPS and here is my ram info

Hello,

there may be no problem here.
Your behavior looks like a pure Linux behavior.
The kernel might use free memory for saving temporary objects.
If somebody asks for memory it'll free them and satisfy a request.
Do you have any problems with this bahavior?

actually no, but i just get surprised how my ram was eaten, load is good, never up of 0.15

good to know that isnt a big problem.

only 2 VE online and my 6GB server had only 256mb free of ram.

one of my VE is only using 700mb ram

where is all !!?!?!?

Note the «buffers» and «cached» columns in 'free' output. Linux is actually using free memory for buffers and caches. Then more memory is needed it will shrink those buffers and caches. It is just way more efficient to use the memory for caches than to do nothing.

so its ok?? because VPS load are 0.1 0.05 loads are very low

if not, how to fix it?
