Hi,

In VPS (fedora 4)

root@linux [/var/log]# vzctl set 101 --privvmpages 512M --save
UB limits were set successefully
Saved parameters for VPS 101
root@linux [/var/log]#


[root@linux home]# ls
ls: error while loading shared libraries: libpthread.so.0: failed to map segment from shared object: Cannot allocate memory
[root@linux home]#

You need to allocate more memory for this VPS. And increase numproc value also.

1. do you have recompiled kernel or original binary from openvz.org?
2. are you running something in VPS or it is a freshly created VPS without any additional software inside?
3. is it reproducable?
4. it looks like you fail counters were hit before you changed the limits. Because, I can't believe that someone sane application could fork 5000 of processes. So can you check /proc/user_beancounters output after VPS stop; sleep 500; start; or machine reboot?
