Hello.

I have a open vz server with fedora 6 (zod) on a NH.
Currently this server is running a pretty old kernel:
2.6.18-ovz028test007.1-smp
I'd like to upgrade to a recent one (2.6.18-ovz028stab056.1)

I've installed new kernel via rpm, however, vzctl, vzctl-lib and vzquota packages are also outdated (3.0.13 for vzctl* and 3.0.9 for vzquota). There are much newer versions - 3.0.23 (vzctl*) and 3.0.12 for vzquota available.

The question is - what is the correct order to update? Should I reboot with a new kernel and then update vzctl, vzctl-lib and vzquota or should I update utilities and then reboot with a new kernel? This is a production server located far away from me on collocation, so failure is very undesirable Smile

Thanks in advance !

Hello,

in my opinion you'd better update OpenVZ utility and OpenVZ kernel simultaneously and then reboot the node.
