One of our server crashed. we were able to recover the vps data but the vps conf file were messed up.

Now when we start vps

vzctl start 220
Starting VE ...
VE is mounted
Adding IP address(es): x.x.x.x
Setting CPU limit: 400
Setting CPU units: 60000
Configure meminfo: 512000
Set hostname: localhost
Unable to start init, probably incorrect template
VE start failed
Stopping VE ...
VE was stopped
VE is unmounted

There are 10 templates but which one is the correct one for it we have no idea. how can we find which is the correct VPS template for it?

Thans

Hello

How about setting OSTEMPLATE one at a time. When you only have 10 different templates it's quickly tested.

Tried all of them still getting same error. I changed the template name in

/etc/sysconfig/VPSID.conf and tried restarting VPS.
Is there any way to find what was the exact template id for that specific vps.
Thanks

Are you sure you are editing correct VEID config files. I can not check at the moment, but I belive configs were in /etc/vz/conf/ or such?

Anyway, do bare in mind, that OS template is without .tar.gz.

Cheers,
Aleks
