Hi,

what strategy would be the better one?

1st: /vz (all VE's) are mounted by iSCSI from a strorage cluster
2nd: /vz (all VE's) are located on the local RAID-1 system and only data paths e.g. /ftp_root oder /mysql_files/*.MDI ... inside the VE are mounted by iSCSI from the storage cluster.

I feel a worse performance still using configuration 1 above on access to ftp oder mysql instead of a clen physical machine.

Andy better solutions?

best regards
Frank

Hi Frank,

well, this really depends on the speeds of iSCSI cluster storage and your local disks, so the best way is to check which of them is faster for random read/write operations.

In case local disks are faster, well, yes, then it makes sense to move as much as possible to local disk - your variant 2).

But keep in mind - variant 1) is more simple which also might be important for you.
