I have just installed hypervm on a server running centos 5. When I install an openvz container on the node the server does not come back online after issuing the command:

Quote:

#init 6

or

Quote:

#reboot

and I have to start it manually running:

Quote:

#vzctl start 110

However I am able to reboot from HyperVM and the server comes back online. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

Hello,

please take a look at the user's guide
http://download.openvz.org/doc/OpenVZ-Users-Guide.pdf

"Rebooting Virtual Private Server" (page 71).

Is this what you want?

No, everything looks to be configured correctly, its when I issue a reboot command from the vds command line the virtual machine never starts. If I run vzlist -a on the node it just shows the vds as mounted.

After the VPS shuts down it executes umount scrips, if the scripts
fail it stays in mounted state, thus after you start it again
it works.

Try
vzctl umount 110

also have a look at /var/log/vzctl.log

I don't see anything out of the ordinary in the logs. How can I fix the unmount scripts? or where can I get fresh copies to try and relpace them with?

Restarting crond has fixed the issue for me.

/usr/share/vzctl/scripts/vpsreboot

was not running successfully when it should have been.
