Hello,

I have used VServers a lot. Now I want to explore OpenVZ technology.

One 'restriction' of VServers that has actually helped a lot for a certain application, is that in VServers, the date/time can only be changed on the Host OS. Does OpenVZ have the same restriction?

Thanks,

Eric

Yes VEs are not allowed to change time (there is same time for all VE and host OS), unless you explicitly allow specific VE to change the hosts system time.

I even run my NTP server inside a container. Set

vzctl set veid --capability sys_time:on --save

and everything works like a charm.
