Hi,
we have created a VE based on CentOS 5, and we want it to act as a PDC samba server.
We noticed that in samba init script nmbd was commented, but we don't worry about that until we try to use server as a WINS Server. If we try to start nmbd daemon it seems like doesn't find any network interfaces:

[2008/11/27 09:53:27, 0] nmbd/nmbd_subnetdb.c:create_subnets(190)
create_subnets: No local interfaces !

So now we think that the comment in the init script is for some reason.

What is the problem? Does nmbd have any incompability with VEs?

Thanks in advance.

Frank

I have read about virtual ethernet devices. Is that the solution?
Does anybody tried that?

Thanks for your help.
