Hello all,

I have a 29er network and I have tried to set a netmask
with vzctrl but I have not found any options.
Can someone give me a hint to do this setting?

Greeting, Frank

You don't have to set netmask on VPS network interfaces (i.e. netmask is /32 and should not be changed), as VPS network interfaces (venet0) are not communicating over network directly; instead they are routed via 'real' network interface (e.g. eth0) and you should only care about this real network interface netmask.

Sorry for bumping this old, old, thread, but I found it while troubleshooting a DNS inside a container and I think it is good context for a piece of advice.

If you install a DNS server in a container bear in mind that a 32 bit mask makes the built-in acl "localnets" apply only to the container itself (i.e., it is equivalent to "localhost"), so you will have to explicitly define your own acl.
