Hi all, I'm a new member, I have installed Openvz and have problem with networking as follow:

My Hardware node has one NIC call eth0, I assigned IP: 10.x.x.10/24, gateway: 10.x.x.1 this ip can access to the internet.

I created 2 VPS with hostname call are node1 and node2

In node1, I assigned IP: 192.168.1.2
In node2, I assigned IP: 192.168.1.3

When I start VPS have this message:

arpsend: 192.168.1.2 is detected on another computer : 00:00:0c:07:ac:06
vps-net_add WARNING: arpsend -c 1 -w 1 -D -e 192.168.1.2 eth0 FAILED

the same problem on node2

I access to node1 and ping to 10.x.x.10 is ok
but i cannot access to 10.x.x.1 and to the internet.

Any body, who already met this error? May you give me how to config to node1 or node2 can access to the internet?

Regards,
John Nguyen

First thing is you need to enable IP forwarding.

Hi Kir,

Yes, I enable IP forwarding by added in /etc/sysctl.conf
net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1, but result not change?

Pls help me resolve this problem?

Thanks, John Nguyen

Hi,

we can consider CTs (VEs) like a standalone computer. It is not really truth but anyway ...
So, your HN has IP: 10.x.x.10/24 and your VE IP: 192.168.1.2. They are from different subnet. Why do you expect your VE to access the internet?
You can use SNAT to get the access.
Please, look at this page
http://wiki.openvz.org/Using_NAT_for_container_with_private_ IPs#How_to_provide_access_for_container_to_Internet
Thank You.
