Hello
I would like to use the ppdev module from the 2.6.9 series openvz kernels,
but it is missing

ie
modprobe ppdev
FATAL: Module ppdev not found.

Can anyone help me to get this module compiled, or somehow fix this?

My Kernel is

2.6.9-023stab048.4my.parallel_port.v1

I followed the instructions on the openvz wiki, on compiling a kernel,
however the module didn't get created.

ie

find /lib/modules/2.6.9-023stab048.4my.parallel_port.v1/ -name "*ppdev*"
/lib/modules/2.6.9-023stab048.4my.parallel_port.v1/build/inc lude/config/ppdev.h
/lib/modules/2.6.9-023stab048.4my.parallel_port.v1/build/inc lude/linux/ppdev.h
You have new mail in /var/spool/mail/root

The kernel .config file already has PARPORT_PC set to m, so I'm not sure what could be wrong.

The 2.6.18 kernels from openvz have ppdev, but I cannot use that kernel as it means I have to upgrade gcc, which is another can of worms I didn't want to get into.

Thanks

Peter

If you need ppdev module, set CONFIG_PPDEV=m in .config.
