Hi all

Any one knows the internal mechanism for broadcast messages on venet0? Virtuozzo Networking - venet0 Mode

When I try ping -b 192.168.1.255 inside the ve,I got know response.TCPdump outside VE on the host showed something on venet0,but nothing on eth0.When I do the samething outside VE,at least tcpdump will show the ping request message on eth0s.

It seems that venet0 dropped the broadcast messages?

I also tried

Ifconfig venet0 broadcast 192.168.1.255,but the system do not allow me to do this?

My template is ubuntu804,and host openvz kernel is ovz004. I found some threads talking about venet0:0,someone said it’s a bug, other said it’s designed like this for Debian based templates. Is just an alias, righ?Any clarification?

Anyone has some idea to get the broadcast message get through?

Thanks in advance

Best Regards
