Hi, I'm trying out OpenVZ for the first time and have successfully installed the kernel according to the quick installation documentation on this site and I am now trying to get a VPS up and running.
I've followed the instructions in the OS template cache preparation document and, after some rpm issues on my Fedora Core 4 64-bit machine, got to the point where I need to run the vzpkgcache command. That's where the trouble started 'cause I got this message -
<-- start -->
Creating cache for fedora-core-4-i386-default OS template
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:
/usr/share/vzpkgtools/vzrpm44/lib/python2.4/site-packages/rp m/_rpmmodule.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.
It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.4.1 (#1, May 16 2005, 15:15:14)
[GCC 4.0.0 20050512 (Red Hat 4.0.0-5)]
If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please send this
message to <yum@lists.linux.duke.edu>.

The file _rpmmodule.so does exist on my system with read and execute rights for all users in the directory specified in the error message. I've had to install the 32-bit packages for the rpm/python bits in the tools to get past dependencies, but I'm not sure what the cause of this problem really is.
Does anyone here have any ideas? Is there any more information that I can provide?
Regards,
Chris
