Kernel 2.6.18-53.1.13.el5.028stab053.10 (CentOS 5.1) is installed and the box is frozen.

I cannot login on the console, no error messages are shown on the console.

I can occasionally log in using ssh, but only run "ls". If I run "w", "top" my session hangs.

Magic SysRq output coming soon (on the fourth hang..) :/

What if you try to ssh, but not run a login shell? Such as: ssh root@yourip uptime

Try that next time and see what the load average is.

I tried that with an echo, but that failed too.
The console showed a successful login, but I never got a shell.
Login at the console didn't work either.
