I have FC5 installed on a 3ware raid working on a 64bit setup.

I installed the beta FC5 64bit rpm, and when I try to boot, it fails, giving an error of not being able to find /boot/dev along with some other partitions.

I've tried both the latest and previous kernels, and have also tried rebuilding the RPM with the same results.

I even did another fresh install, disabling LVM on the root partition.

The 3ware driver seems to be included in the OpenVZ kernel.

Anyone have some suggestions to try?

Thanks

I just built the kernel from source using the patch, and I am now booting successfully.

do you mean, that after you rebuilt the kernel itself from SRC RPM it started to work? Shocked

I did try building the src rpm (rpmbuild -ba --target=x86_64 kernel-2.6.spec) for both of the FC5 kernels, and both builds after being installed resulted in the same problem during boot. I even reinstalled FC5, so the root partition was not on an LVM'ed partition, to no avail.

After getting the kernel tarball and applying the latest patch, I built and booted that kernel. I was suprised that it worked, vs the various rpm versions.
