Actually, if you are 100% sure you need 32bit only, I would recommend 32bit OS. Since most, but still not all of 32bit ioctls() and kernel calls are fully emulated in 64bit kernel.

Also 64bit OS has slightly bigger memory overhead (i.e. mem usage).
Performance is questinable... 64bit OS makes really sence when you have more than 8Gb RAM.
