Apache does not start when rebooting [message #27784]

Dear all
I have witnessed this problem before and I was wondering why it happens

Everytime after I create new vps I execute
chkconfig httpd on

and I start the httpd

when I reboot the machine or I restart the VPS, apache does not start up as supposed to do. So, I have to start it manually

any idea???

what does chkconfig --list | grep httpd shows you?

In some cases, chkconfig httpd on is not enough, you have to run something like chkconfig --level 2345 httpd on

[root@centos5_1 /]# chkconfig --list | grep httpd
httpd 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off

it shows that it is supposed to be on in level 3

i did chkconfig --level 2345 httpd on

and nothing changed

I have tried this on centos and fedora templates.

It started automatically after 10 minutes (that happened several times before)
