Hey, everybody. I have a hardware node and VEs all with public IP addresses. It's a fresh install of kernel 2.6.18-ovz-028stab051.1-smp on Debian Etch 4.0 x86_64. The nodes have venet devices.
My problem is the HN and VEs are in completely different subnets. The HN is in 76.x.x.x and the VE addresses are in 66.x.x.x.
The HN can ping the VEs, the VEs can ping the HN, but the VEs can't ping anything outside nor can anything outside ping the VEs.
I have no forwarding rules set up, just the base install and normal node creation for a venet device. It's literally a brand new server.
I tried disabling the VEs and giving the HN a secondary IP address on eth0:0 from the 66.x.x.x range to make sure it wasn't a problem with the routing on the network. When I did this, I was able to ping the 66.x.x.x address from outside, so I know it's got to be a machine configuration problem.
Am I having trouble because the IPs are in different subnets, or is there an IP forwarding rule that I needed to set up that I missed..?
Any help would be immensely appreciated.
