I just installed OpenVZ on a new server following the install guide to the letter but I find that the upload speed is only about 2Kbps it is a 10Mb line and the node is able to upload at 1.2Mbps I have set memory and hard drive quotas but no network limits.

The host machine is running centos 5 and the VE is fedora core 4. I have given it a separate IP address, hostname and name server all of which have been tested.

I am unsure as to what to do next and was hoping you could advise.

Thank you

There are 3 possible bottlenecks here - CPU, network and IO.

The CPU load can be observed with the 'top' command.

The IO load can be measured with the 'vmstat' tool.

If you say, that the network channel is fast enough, then we may wait with its investigation.
