hi!

in the /vz/private folder you can find the data from the vps. but what are the files/folders in /vz/root? it looks like the same things then in the private folder...

maybe i am also to stupid to find it in the documentation... :/

"root" contains a copy of only the started VPS-machines - like something mounted with "mount -o bind", while "private" contains the actual files.

it's a "working" mounted VPS filesystem.
i.e. it is a separate mount from kernel POV, and df and other utilities work correctly with it reporting VPS disk space, not host system.
