Hi guys

I have faced this problem in Centos 5. I am trying to install yum on the geust os. However, I could not because of the following error.

[root@localhost ~]# vzyum 101 install yum
ERROR: No such OS template: install

I have googled it and i saw some solutions but they did not work. Most of the solutions taled about OS template metadata. But, i did not manage to find the metadata for centos 5. Any idea that can help me to solve this issue.

Thanks a lot

I created CentOS 5 template metadata some time ago. It has a kludge to eliminate the udev problem until it's fixed. Scroll down the page and you'll see it. Make sure and get the -3 version on this page if you are using it on CentOS 5.

Thanks for the help Mr Steve.

Now I no longer have this error. However I have a new one which is

[root@localhost Desktop]# vzyum 101 install yum
ERROR: RPM python path not found: /usr/share/vzpkgtools/vzrpm44/lib/python2.4/site-packages

I installed one package called vzrpm44. and this error started to appear.

I tried to solve the problem by installing

[root@localhost Desktop]# yum install vzrpm-python
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up Install Process
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Parsing package install arguments
Nothing to do

but the problem is not yet solved. I am running the host Centos 5. and the guest is centos 5 as well.

another guest is cenots 4 but it has no problem with vzyum

any idea?

Thanks

Looks like you are missing the vzrpm44-python package. Did you install all of the template utilities (http://openvz.org/download/template/utils/)?
