Hi all,

My server is a Dual Intel Xeon Quad-Core with 6Gb RAM and my doubt is: This kernel version supports 3Gb+ RAM ??

Actually I use kernel version 2.6.18-8.1.15.el5.028stab049.1 and I pay my datacenter to add more 2gb RAM and my dmesg show this info:

Warning only 4GB will be used.
Use a PAE enabled kernel.

Anyone knows how I do to make this new kernel to see my 6gb RAM??

Thanks in advance.

See, the kernel explicitly tells you that you need PAE kernel if you want to see more than 4GB of RAM.

In addition to that, kernel download page (http://openvz.org/download/kernel/rhel5/) tells you:
Quote:

* If your x86 machine has more than 4 GB of RAM, choose PAE kernel.
* Otherwise, use the plain kernel RPM (ovzkernel).

Also, quick installation guide ( http://wiki.openvz.org/Quick_installation#Kernel_installatio n) tells:
Quote:

First, you need to choose what “flavor” of the kernel you want to install. Please refer to Kernel flavors for more information.

Finally, there is a dedicated wiki page (http://wiki.openvz.org/Kernel_flavors) which tells you ... all the same.
