Hello -
Anyone seen this problem? I cannot add IP's to VPSs. I've checked out other posts to no avail. This is a fresh install of Fedora C4 with the 2.6.8-022stab038.1 OpenVZ kernel and /etc/sysctl.conf set according to directions.
This machine has two ethernet interfaces but only eth0 is active (and of course venet0). I am SSH'd to this machine so obviously networking is fine. I cannot figure out what device it's trying to bind to.
Here's venet0:
venet0 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr FC-BF-F4-6F-54-00-00-10-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00
UP BROADCAST POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:3 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
Here's the attempt to add:
[root@nerd sysconfig]# vzctl set 172 --ipadd 10.1.1.72 --save
Adding IP address(es): 10.1.1.72
SIOCADDRT: No such device
Any guru help out there is appreciated!
Thanks!
-Erik
