Hi all,

2 of my servers have crashed today, one of them twice. I am not sure whether this should be a bugreport, and I would like to know if maybe someone else is experiencing this too:

Both Servers are AMD64X2 Machines with Debian Etch and the precompiled Kernel from debian.systs.org. One of them is rather new, but the other one has been running on various 2.6.18 ovz Kernel with no problems since January up to now. However one or two days ago I switched to 028stab045.1-smp and now it crashed twice today.

The Machines just stopped working, Network gone, No Logfile Entries until reboot.

Both machines are AMD64X2-4xxx, 2 GB Ram and have 3ware 7006/8006LP Raidcontrollers. both have Realtek NICs, one HW is running the RTL8139 the other has a RTL8169.

Are there any changes in the latest 028stab045.1 regarding Hardware Drivers or something similar that could cause this behaviour?

Hi Maik,

please update the debian linux image, flavor -smp, taken from debian.systs.org.

Ah, okay. So there was something broken with the packages? Can you give me some Information what was wrong? (just out of curiosity...)

I believe I am affected by the same issue and my debian etch machine is unreachable at my colo. Is there any solution as of yet?

I went back to an older version with one machine. However Thorsten Released an update to 45.2-smp wich I installed at the new machine mentioned above.

Both have been running well up to now for 2-3 Days. *knockonwood*
