Regardless of it being a kernel or OpenVZ VPS issue, autofs doesn't work for the automounting of user's NFS-based home directories in a VPS.

The issue noted in my original post is that the parent directories that are usually created from the auto.net automounter maps aren't being properly created in the VPS. My original example only showed that the /misc mount point wasn't being created. Actually, MANY directories fail and even if I manually pre-create these directories, it doesn't help
