I decided to put openvz on my main desktop system. I had been successful with putting it on a server and didn't pay much attention to the sound on that system. I did notice it didn't work but sort of figured I had kicked the speaker plug loose or something. Now that I have an OpenVz kernel on my desktop, I see it doesn't make noise either. I tried to modprobe the modules in, but there aren't any!

Do I have to go off and create my own kernel? If so, is the default .config file laying around somewhere? My biggest problem with generating a kernel is getting all the settings right. Didn't used to be problem 'cause I knew what the hardware supported. Now there is so much more that I have no idea what the hardware is capable of.

Thanks,
Jim.
